Gender Champion Cell organized a Webinar on 26th August 2021 to observe “Women’s Equality Day’. The purpose of observing “Women’s Equality Day’ is to raise awareness about the status and dignity of women among the students.
Dr. Theyie Keditsu Ph.D, Assistant Professor (Dept. of English), Kohima College, Kohima was the speaker. She spoke on the topic of ‘Women’s Empowerment’. She encouraged students to create their own identity and also to own it as a Naga. She talked about feminism in the context of Naga society and the system of patriarchy as well. Students were also motivated to transcend gender in a collective manner.
Ms. Chongti, Asst. Professor, Dept of Education moderated the Webinar. Welcome address was delivered by Dr. I. Wati Imchen, Principal, Wangkhao Govt College and the webinar ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Tenosenuo Angami, Asst Professor (Dept. of History).
