Neighbourhood Youth Parliament celebration of 75th years of India’s independence.

 

Wangkhao Government College, Mon joined hands with the Nehru Yuva Kendra in the Celebration of 75th years of India’s Independence on 12th March 2021.

Ms. Molosangla Ozukum, EAC (NCS) exhorted the gathering by encouraging the students to never stop learning and seek knowledge from great leaders of the past and to emulate their good works. India as a country is fortunate to have opportunity in celebrating 75 years of Independence when their immediate neighbouring country is going through political unrest.

Mr. Koshy C.P. Asst. Prof and HoD from the Department of Political Science was the Resource Person for the program and spoke on the topic: India’s Freedom Struggle (Mahatma Gandhi & Subhash Chandra Bose). Taking the examples of these two great Indian leaders who were selfless in contributing to the Freedom Struggle, he urged upon the students to learn how greatness never dies, but their vision and ideas still lives among leaders and layman from different political background.

The program was chaired by Mr. Bangwing from NYKs. Ms Tenosenuo Angami, Asst Prof. Department of History led the Invocation and the program closed with mass benediction followed by light refreshment.

Seventy two (72) students participated in the program along with the Principal of the College and few Senior Teachers.
